Chimichangas, or chivichangas, which originated in Mexico, are deep-fried burritos. Flour tortillas are filled and folded into rectangular packages and then deep-fried. Fillings vary, but common ingredients include rice, refried beans, cheese and shredded chicken, beef or pork. Chimichangas are served without a sauce but may be garnished with guacamole, shredded cheese, sour cream or salsa.
